Frequently asked questions

Do you offer same day garage door repair?

Yes. Most calls booked before mid-afternoon get a same-day slot, and emergencies are dispatched 24 hours a day. Call (866) 651-0832.

What areas of Hawaii do you cover?

All six islands and 162 named communities, from Honolulu, Kapolei and Kaneohe to Hilo, Kailua-Kona, Kahului, Lihue, Kaunakakai and Lanai City.

How much does garage door repair cost?

It depends entirely on the part and the door. Sensor and adjustment work sits at the low end, spring and cable jobs in the middle, and opener or door replacement at the top. You always get a firm price before the work starts.

How much does a new garage door cost to install?

Size, insulation, finish, window options and freight all move the number. We measure, then give you an itemised written quote before anything is ordered.

Can you replace a broken garage door spring today?

Usually. Standard torsion and extension springs are stocked on the truck. Odd sizes and high-cycle upgrades sometimes need a day.

Should I replace one spring or both?

Both. They are the same age and have done the same number of cycles, so replacing one leaves you with an unbalanced door and a second call-out within months.

How long do garage door springs last?

A standard spring is rated at roughly 10,000 cycles, about seven years of normal household use. In coastal Hawaii, corrosion often ends them earlier. High-cycle springs last two to three times longer.

My garage door won't close and the opener light blinks. Why?

Almost always the safety sensors — knocked out of alignment, dirty lenses, or a damaged wire. It is one of the fastest repairs we do.

The opener hums but the door doesn't move. Is the motor dead?

Usually not. It is normally a stripped drive gear or a broken spring making the door too heavy to lift. Both are repairs rather than replacements.

Is it safe to use a garage door that came off its track?

No. Every attempt to cycle an off-track door bends more track and creases more panels. Stop using it and call.

Do you work on commercial and rolling steel doors?

Yes — warehouses, workshops, storefronts, condo buildings and dock doors, including scheduled maintenance contracts for property managers.

Do you work outside business hours?

Yes. Evening and weekend appointments are routine, and the emergency line runs 24/7.

Do you service doors you didn't install?

Always. Most of our work is on doors somebody else installed.

Which opener brands do you repair?

LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Craftsman, Wayne Dalton, Sommer, Marantec and most commercial operators.

Can I get a quote over the phone?

For common repairs, yes — describe the fault and we can usually give you the number before we arrive. New doors need a measure first.

Why do garage doors fail faster in Hawaii?

Salt-laden air corrodes the lift cables and spring steel from the outside in, and humidity keeps the process running. That is why we inspect cables on every call and use galvanised hardware on coastal jobs.
